Frogz

Clint got free tickets form work to go see the production of Frogz. It was wonderful. I think Clint and I enjoyed as much if not more then the kids. The custuming was unbelievable. Every scene was amazing. If you ever have a chance to go see it, I highly reccommend you do.

Apparently there is an event called The Festival of World Theatre. That is how we were so lucky to have gotten to see Frogz. I mean when are the Steins going to be in New York.......I am guessing, not any time soon.

TADA!!!! Our Sleeper Sofa

Hey, don't judge the sleeper. She is old, but in Great shape. Plus....she was FREE. You have to love anything that was free. We needed some place for Clint's brother and sister-in-law to sleep. Well here you go. Oh and let me tell you, it ain't to uncomfortable. I could spend a lot of nights on that thing.

Clint found this thing for 2,500 dollars.

He figured with our trips to Texas for house hunting and job interviews, this would make things a hell of a lot easier. Plus since he bought it for so cheap, we could sell it when we are done for a profit. Kind of like an investment. I know our friend Mike (who hopefully gets back from Iraq soon) is ready to help Clint use it up a bit before we move.

Giraffe Whisperer

While at the zoo, we (as we do every damn time we go to the zoo) fed the giraffes. Well, Steven suddenly , right before my eyes, turned from a ginormous wimp into DA DEDA DA "THE GIRAFFE WHISPER" Coming soon to a theater near you.

Grandad Finally Came to Visit

I know noone will believe it, but my Dad finally came to visit. The kids were amazed. Not only at how hairy he was, but that he preferred to sit behind a thick wall of glass.

They were thrilled to finally have him come visit and spend so much time giving them his undivided attention. I love you Dad

Free Sleeper Sofa

Oh yah, who's the shit? If oyu answered Katy, you would be correct. Yesterday we went and picked up our free sleeper sofa. When the lady said Olive green, she wasn't kidding. It is some kind of awful olive (yellowish) green color. The fabric is like velvet almost. Oh and the legs are broken, but let me tell you, clint can fix the legs and I can slipcover the 1962 specimen. It was FREE. I love just about anything FREE. I will take pictures. I still have to open up the hide a bed and see what is going on in there. Wish me luck.

Compensation for Victims of 9/11 vs. Our Soldiers

I stole this from Michelle. I have not checked the dollar amount, but it sounds about right from the things I do know. Not sure you believe it, go look up the facts yourself. I guarantee you will find these numbers to be fairly accurate. I am not the biggest fan (maybe a medium fan) of Rush Limbaugh, but I think he hit the nail on the head here. What do you think? DO you think our soldiers families are fairly compensated? Do you think they deserve compensation equal to that of the victims of 9/11? Where are the fund raisers for our soldiers? Where is hollywood? Where is your money hollywood? These men and woman are serving your country. They are serving the country that gives its citizens the freedoms to express their disgust for the war. What are your thoughts? Pro War or Anti War, what about the soldiers or are serving their country despite their political beliefs?

By Rush Limbaugh: I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable. Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt. Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma Citybombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well. You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politic s in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle Eastwhile their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense? However, our own U.S.Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Soc ial Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month. I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting. "When do we finally do something about this?" If this doesn't seem fair to you, it is time to forward this to as many people as you can.

What a Buy

So, let me tell you part of being monetarily challenged is you are always looking for a bargain and ways to save money. Well, yesterday one of the best deals in the world came along.

We bought a bunkbed. It looked exactly like the one in this picture. It came WITH the mattresses, the sheets and pillows. Oh, and it had only been slept on once.

We got our bunkbed for a mere $50.00. Can you believe it. Damn I am good.

Movies, Movies and more Movies

Clint and I watched Failure to Launch last night. I really enjoyed it. Somepretty funny stuff. Now of course I am a huge fan of Matthew McConaughey. Not just because he is goooooood lookin', but also because he is a very kind, down to earth person. Oh, and Terry Bradshaw was so damn funny. I am thinking about having my own "naked room". Don't know what I mean? Well, go watch the movie. It would be really easy if you had netflix. What? you do not have netflix? Everyone has to have netflix. We also watched the Libertine with Johnny Depp. Clint and I really love Johnny Depp. He is an incredible actor. The movie was good, a little slow, but good. If you like the artsy kind of movies, you know like that movie Johnny Depp was in Ed Wood, you will like this movie for sure.

She's Got Big Balls, I've Got Big Balls

So, as you know, the shit hit the fan.

My Dad's wife and I had declared war and it wasn't pretty.

Then it happened. She got balls way bigger then mine and of course managed to be a bit less stubborn.

We were like Ebony and Ivory. I was so relieved to have the family battle come to an end.

Apologies were made and accepted all around. The celebrating began.

Of course when the news reached CNN and Fox News, the world began to celebrate with us.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.......I am so relieved. I guess I can stop the binge drinking and shooting up heroin, popping xanax and of course beating my children and my pets.

Well, Jack Army's days here in the United States are numbered. For those of you unaware, my big brother is heading off to Iraq.

Let ,me tell you a bit about my big brother. He has been planning battles and leading soldiers since we were children. My younger brother and I were members (not always willingly) of his army. We climbed in ditches, we built forts and shelters, he built boobie traps to keep us out of his forts and shelters. Tom has been preparing for his call to duty since he left my mother's womb.

So in all my research I have found some great sites, some great sellers and some wonderful information. I plan on sharing all I have found. First I want to send all of you to this seller on ebay.

I couldn't have asked for a better transaction and I was thrilled with both the price and the quality of the posters I got for the kids. Oh and they arrived so fast....I couldn't believe it. I am happy to promote someone who does business like these people.

Having a Cup of Joe

My dear darling friend Pat is in the hospital. I was pretty freaked out. You know how you can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends.....well she is my family and I picked her.

Tanner (my dog) has a form of ecema. The poor guy. Apparently when it is cold (which is more often in Colorado then in Texas) it isn't a problem. He has been itching so bad that he has ripped some of his fur out. My poor old man. I got some spray to stop the itching and that seems to help.

I am almost completly done getting clothes for the kids for winter. Emily needs two more pairs of jeans and maybe someshoes. I want to wait on the shoes a few months though because it seems she is having a growth spurt. The boys need undershirts and snowboots and then they are done. Talk about preperation. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I am almost done gathering our homeschooling supplies. The funny thing is, the stuff we are still lacking.....other people trash. We really do not drink soda and we need a few soda bottles. We have to get scrap stuff....baby food jars, fabric, yarn, those wash tubs from the hospital, felt, socks, pipe cleaners.....I have been cruising the ebay and I will check out garage sales. Of course, I will just go through the trash for some of it. I also have to go make copies of the worksheets I have gathered for each subject. I hope that isn't too pricey. Once that is all done, I will be ready to sit down, outline out curriculum and our schedule.

Turmoil in the Middle East

Okay, so I was really not up on the history of why all this fighting is going on between Israel and Lebanon. I spent the morning reading up on how all this started. It is so heart breaking that so many people are suffering. I just want to scream. Embrace our differences. Live and let live. I am so afraid of what is happening to our world. I wonder if people who are not in any way affiliated with the military realize what is going on in our world. Do people care or are we so wrapped up in our everyday life that we are unaware of the turmoil. The civilians who are paying with their lives....it is so sad. What do we do? How do we as a people...not just as Americans, but as humans, how do we reconcile what is happening? How do we bring peace? When will enlightenment spread across the world? When will we all accept and embrace those who are different? We must ALL come to an understanding that no matter race, sex, religion......we are all human. We all love, we are all sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters.

Damn the Bandwith

So if you hadn't noticed....I have not updated in a little bit. I know it is bad when even my friends who know all my business are asking when the hell I am going to update. Well, I have been busy. Shit, can't a girl just hide out for awhile and take a break from life. No?!?!!? Okay well here is my update.

I had to renew my membership with photobucket. That would be why my bandwith ran out. HEE HEE.....

My Dad and I really are no longer speaking. We love each other very much, my step-monster (tongue and cheek) and I will have to come to an understanding and I am guessing that may take awhile, because she will have to e-mail me or call me for that to happen. Maybe!?!?!? I don't know, the more time passes, the more I just do not give a shit and just want everone to get along. They have made ammends to my Grandmother and that is all that really matters to me. Well, that and the fact that my Daddy says she makes him very happy. I guess if she really makes him happy, then thatis all that really matters to me. I have also heard through the grape vine that the girls have improved 100% in their behavior. My Dad made a good point when he said they actually give him less trouble then my brothers and I did. HMmmmmmmmmm.....things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......good point....Can you say Katy isn't perfect and maybe says things out of anger sometimes.....no? well, of course you can't because only I can say that about me.
So, anyways, things will work themselves out.

The kids and I got free tickets to the rodeo tonight. Clint is covering it for the paper. I think it will be kudos of fun.

I went to a big wig Hail and Farewell last week. Super fun. Hung out with the commander of the hospital...who by the way knows the family I used to babysit for when I was a teenager. Small world.

Asked Mr. Rivera (running for Colorado Congress) a million and one questions. Nice guy and good answers. Lov, love, love his wife Lynn Rivera. She is such a special person.

Marsha, my mother in law, came to visit. Had a great time with her. The kids love her, I love her and I can not wait to get back to Texas. She and Clint went fishing, site seeing and out to dinner. We would ahve all gone, but our vehicle is a five seater and the three damn devil children take up three of those.

I quit taking that wellbutrin (started taking to help me quit smoking). I do not think it made a huge difference in my cravings, but made a fucking ridiculous difference in my emotions and weight. I was much more sensitive and my clothes were all shrinking. I have been off it for a little over a week and all my clothes seem to be back to their normal size.

Okay, shit...I think that is all for now....uhm yah maybe.....
Oh, one more thing...I am still working on putting together the kids curriculum...we start school (homeschool...kindergarten) at the end of August. Yes, I am awrae my kids are only three and two....they are ready...They know all they need to know to start public kindergarten....oh other then the fact that Ethan is still in diapers. So I figure I may as well let those little sponges soak up all I can throw at them. Education is the key.....remember that kids.
